Directed by Salomon Ligthelm and Dan DiFelice, ‘ANOMALY’ is the story of broken relationships, and an astronomical event intertwining the various narrative threads - an abstract interpretation of the historical Christmas narrative.
Filmed in NYC, Maine, Kansas, and Colorado, ‘ANOMALY’ is a short film set in the 1960’s space race, featuring Christian Cooke, Lexi Johnson, Andrew Sensenig, and Anthony Lopez. The film is currently in post production with an incredible team ——— and due for release in summer 2014.
A lighthearted essay on contextualized characters.

This is a short timelapse of yesterday’s lunar eclipse (Blood Moon). This was shot from the Santa Monica Mountains, near Malibu Canyon. It’s the darkest (light-pollution-wise) spot I’m familiar with within an hour’s trek from Downtown Los Angeles.
Besides being an amazing sight, I wanted to have a good excuse to attempt something incredibly technical that I knew would work in theory, but would need to require attempting new skills to be able to successfully pull it off. I think I got about 80% of the way… short of having a tracking telescope, I know what I can do to produce a much cleaner result next time. Ideally, the next lunar eclipse will be on a clearer night. During this sequence, clouds passing in front of the moon create a noticeable flicker.
This was shot with a Canon EOS 6D with a 70-200 2.8L lens. An external intervalometer triggered the camera every 10 seconds. The total sequence is 1,092 images. The lens was at f11, and ISO and shutter speed were adjusted during the shot, starting and ending at 1/15@ISO50 and peaking at 2.5s@ISO400. The camera was locked onto a tripod, and the camera moved manually every 40-70 shots. I used Lightroom to lightly edit the images and clean up the exposure compensation, and LRTimelapse to ramp and tween the metadata adjustments. The sequence of frames was then brought into Adobe After Effects where the camera movement tracked to keep the moon in the center of the frame. I also cleaned up some of the flicker.
